Critical Linux kernel flaw allows remote root attacks on MPTCP serversCVE-2026-98432 is a use-after-free race condition in the Linux kernel IPv4 TCP code (tcp_v4_syn_recv_sock, ireq_opt), affecting kernels back to 4.4 and rated 9.8 by the kernel CVE team (Red Hat rates it 5.9). Anthropic researchers say an unreleased Claude model built an exploit that bypassed KASLR and got remote root on an MPTCP listener in about 53 minutes. The article lists distro patch status and CIQ's nftables mitigation for IP options; disabling MPTCP alone does not help. No in-the-wild exploitation is reported.

TeamViewer Flaw Could Let Malicious Hosts Take Over Support Technicians’ MachinesCVE-2026-111585 (CVSS 8.8) is an integer overflow in the remote-control screen processing of TeamViewer clients on Windows, macOS, Linux and Android. A malicious or compromised host can announce an oversized screen surface (for example 32768 by 32768 at 32 bpp), forcing a software decode path and an out-of-bounds write that crashes the viewer or runs code. Remedio's research shows a pointer overwrite routed to WinExec. Version 15.83 fixes it, along with CVE-2026-92372, CVE-2026-92374 and six local privilege escalation bugs.

The page lists mitigations, IOCs and a timeline.

AI Platform Cairn Abused to Hack Over 100 OrganizationsCairn is an open source AI platform that coordinates agents as an autonomous penetration testing engine. Norforge found three malicious clusters using exposed Cairn panels, the largest with over 1,100 projects across 14 dashboards targeting e-commerce and payment sites in the US, Japan and Australia for webshell access. Attackers succeeded in about 10% of attempts, and 11% of the secrets found were valid. Reuters reports over 100 victims, including John Deere and SharkNinja.

CVE-2026-106173 Deep-Dive: FortiSIEM gRPC Path Traversal File Write RCECVE-2026-106173 is an unauthenticated arbitrary file write in the FortiSIEM phQueryMaster gRPC service on tcp/27918, advised by Fortinet on 13 October 2026. The SendQueryResult handler concatenates an attacker-controlled query-id into a path, and a null byte in the header removes the server-added filename suffix. Overwriting /opt/charting/redishb.sh, run every 60 seconds by cron, gives root-level code execution. IOCs are file timestamps.

From JavaScript to Renderer Code Execution: Three V8 Vulnerabilities and Two v8CTF Flags | depthfirstDepth First Security's write-up describes three V8 bugs found using its dfs-large1 research tooling: CVE-2026-78938, a type confusion in Promise.prototype.finally that lets an internal helper be constructed and return a primitive; CVE-2026-79236, a TurboFan load-elimination bug that keeps a stale property-array pointer after object migration; and a shared WebAssembly memory sandbox escape (issue 546253900) caused by mismatched backing-store registration during serialization. It walks through turning each memory bug into addrof/fakeobj primitives, chaining either with the sandbox escape to reclaim a freed V8 isolate via a WebSocket allocation, and pivoting through a CFI-constrained ROP chain to achieve Chrome renderer code execution, earning two v8CTF flags. Fixes landed between August 20 and 25, 2026.

Datadog pathrunner: AWS IAM privilege escalation frameworkpathrunner is a modular offensive framework from Datadog Security Labs that automates exploitation of the AWS IAM privilege escalation paths catalogued in pathfinding.cloud and deployed in Pathfinding Labs. It has over 80 exploit modules (as of October 2026), identity import and switching, multiple payloads per module, and attacker infrastructure deployment with a credential listener. A workspace report lists created resources and expected CloudTrail events for defenders.

Broadcom Wi-Fi vulnerability leaves over 1.5 million Belgian gateways exposedA Broadcom SDK flaw in the WPS code that reassembles fragmented EAP messages allows a buffer overflow and unauthenticated code execution over Wi-Fi, bypassing WPA2/WPA3 passwords. Quentin Kaiser of ONEKEY demonstrated it at Hexacon on 16 October 2026 against Orange Belgium and Proximus gateways, and published a fingerprinting script and YARA rule. Broadcom's 2018 patch was incomplete, it refused a CVE, and over 1.5 million Belgian gateways are exposed.

Plex2Shell is a chain of four Plex Media Server flaws (CVE-2026-96652, CVE-2026-96654, CVE-2026-96655, CVE-2026-96656) that a researcher says ends in unauthenticated RCE on servers older than 1.43.3.10861. A write-up and PoC were published on 16 October 2026. CISA advisory VA-26-266-01 scores the individual CVEs 4.3 to 7.2, and they are not in CISA KEV. The post advises updating, avoiding exposure of port 32400, and checking for unknown child processes and new files in the Codecs folder.

Infinity Core is a set of six Linux kernel bugs published by researcher Hyunwoo Kim after the linux-distros embargo expired on 16 October 2026, with public exploit code. The bugs sit in timer, signal, memory, futex, scheduler and SLUB code. Five have local privilege escalation exploits, one is crash-only. CIQ says four affect Rocky Linux-based kernels. No sysctl or module workaround exists, so the fix is a patched kernel and a reboot.

Hackers Jailbreak iPhone 18 Pro on Stage, and It Survives a RebootReports that Calif.io demonstrated an untethered jailbreak of an iPhone 18 Pro on iOS 27.0.1 at Hexacon in Paris, showing root SSH access after a reboot and passcode unlock. The vulnerabilities are unnamed and no tool is public; Calif says it will publish later. The article notes Calif's prior use of Claude and Mythos Preview for exploit development, Apple's iOS 27 notes crediting Calif for two unrelated crash bugs, and the Apple mitigations (sandbox, PAC, secure boot chain) such a chain must defeat.

Long-form write-up of a Hexacon 2026 talk on a WPS EAP reassembly overflow in Broadcom's proprietary 802.11 stack, present since 2010 and incompletely patched in 2018. It is remotely triggerable over WiFi without the network key. It gives information disclosure and code execution on eCos (BCM3380, BCM3383, BCM33834) and Linux (BCM3390, BCM65xx, BCM68xx) platforms. Exploited on Belgian ISP routers from Proximus, VOO and Orange. Includes a 90-day disclosure timeline, and Broadcom refused to assign a CVE.
