Brendan Jowett (@jowettbrendan) on X
A curated Twitter/X thread listing ten GitHub repos that extend Claude Code and Codex workflows: spec-forcing planning/testing skills (obra/superpowers, mattpocock's skills with grill-me/diagnose/handoff), session memory compression (thedotmack's claude-mem-style tool), codebase-to-graph querying (safishamsi/graphify), a spec-driven long-task workflow (gsd-build), scope-reduction and anti-fluff skills, a cross-tool harness spanning Claude Code/Codex/OpenCode/Cursor (affaan-m/ECC), a multi-role agent team setup (garrytan/gstack), and a local model-routing gateway (musistudio's claude-code-router). Each entry is a practical, installable tool aimed at making coding agents more disciplined, memory-aware, and cost-efficient.
What it claims
A promotional list of ten GitHub repos that add structure to Claude Code and Codex sessions. The thread offers no benchmarks, versions, licences or install steps. It has one quantified claim: the reply-trimming skill (#7) gives "up to 65% fewer tokens," with no baseline, task or measurement method stated. Everything else is the author's characterisation.
How to use it
The thread truncates every link, so the reader has to search for most of these repos. This is how the page itself identifies each one, with the details it adds beyond the summary:
| # | Repo as shown | Details the thread adds |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | github.com/obra/superpowe… | Plans in readable chunks. Requires tests, debugging and a review before the agent declares the work done. |
| 2 | github.com/mattpocock/ski… | Recommends only grill-me, diagnose and handoff from the set. |
| 3 | github.com/thedotmack/cla… | Captures session actions, compresses them, and re-injects them into the next session. |
| 4 | github.com/safishamsi/gra… | Invoked as /graphify. Ingests code, docs and screenshots, and answers queries such as "where auth lives" by walking the graph. |
| 5 | github.com/gsd-build/get-… | Pause and restart with fresh context while the plan persists. |
| 6 | github.com/DietrichGebert… | A "laziest senior engineer" persona that cuts scope instead of writing more code. |
| 7 | github.com/JuliusBrussee/… | Strips narration from replies. Claimed "up to 65% fewer tokens." |
| 8 | github.com/affaan-m/ECC | Skills, memory, security checks and "research-first rules" that behave the same on Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode and Cursor. |
| 9 | github.com/garrytan/gstack | Roles: designer, engineering manager, QA, release. Described as Garry Tan's own setup. |
| 10 | github.com/musistudio/cla… | A local gateway in front of both Claude Code and Codex that routes easy edits to a cheap model and hard bugs to a strong one. |
The thread gives no repo names at all for #6 and #7, only the owner prefixes. Those prefixes are the only handle a reader has for finding those two.
Limits
- Truncated links. All the links are cut off. Only
affaan-m/ECCandgarrytan/gstackappear complete, so check every other repo identity before installing. - Unsupported token claim. The "65% fewer tokens" figure has no baseline or setting, so treat it as marketing.
- Nothing to judge maturity or compatibility. There are no licences, install commands, supported versions or maintenance status for any repo.
- Overlapping functions. Several entries cover the same ground: memory (#2's handoff, #3, #8), and spec or planning workflows (#1, #2, #5). The thread does not say whether they conflict when installed together.
