ToolUniverse, from ScientistTools, is an open-source (Apache-2.0) toolkit that gives any LLM one interface to more than 1,000 scientific tools, models and databases such as PubMed, UniProt and ChEMBL. It ships a native MCP server, a Python SDK and a tu CLI, plus 68 pre-built agent skills. The post says it works with Claude Code, Cursor, Gemini CLI and Windsurf.
