zhuyansen/awesome-claude-video-skills

Awesome-list repository cataloguing 183 open-source 'skills' and toolkits that let Claude Code, Codex and other coding agents generate or edit video: rendering frameworks like HyperFrames and Remotion, motion graphics, explainer/promo video generators, short-form editors, digital avatars and music videos. Each entry is read and security-graded by a companion service (Agent Skills Hub / agentskillshub.top), with a machine-readable JSON feed and category breakdowns (frameworks, promos, explainers, editing, shorts, avatars, animation, motion graphics, scripts, music videos).

TL;DR A live, security-graded index of 183 Claude Code/Codex 'agent skill' repos for AI video generation and editing.

What it claims

The list now holds 204 repos, not the 183 in the catalog summary. The ten category counts add up to 204: Frameworks 30, Promo 37, Explainers 36, Editing 37, Shorts 21, Avatars 5, Stories 14, Motion graphics 12, Scripts 10, Music videos 2. The live page at agentskillshub.top refreshes every 8 hours, and this copy was generated 2026-09-30.

Two things the summary leaves out:

  • Who decides what gets in. A decision model reads each README to make the inclusion call. No human reviews it.
  • What the security grade covers. It grades only "the repo's README and install steps". It does not audit the code.

How it works

A repo qualifies if it makes or edits video or motion graphics, an agent operates it (as a skill, plugin, MCP server or agent toolkit), and it has a README.

flowchart TD
  A[Video/motion repo, agent-operated, has README] --> B{≥50 stars?}
  B -->|yes| IN[Listed on topic alone]
  B -->|no| C{Passes README bar}
  C -->|no| OUT[Excluded]
  C -->|yes| D{Names Opus 5.5?}
  D -->|yes| IN
  D -->|no| E{≥5 stars?}
  E -->|yes| IN
  E -->|no| OUT

The README bar for repos under 50 stars has four parts: it shows the result, offers a one-command start, names a concrete outcome, and has complete docs. 3D web pages and prompt collections are excluded. The maintainer warns that repos near a cut-off "can land on either side."

Starting points by category (stars as listed)

  • Frameworks: calesthio/OpenMontage 61.9k (12 pipelines, 100+ tools), heygen-com/hyperframes 54.4k ("Write HTML. Render video."), hypit-ai/hypit 17.9k, remotion-dev/skills 4.8k, digitalsamba/claude-code-video-toolkit 2.2k.
  • Promo: Vincentwei1021/video-shotcraft 10.0k (Remotion, 152 shot recipe cards). Several forks and clones of it are also listed.
  • Explainers: Alisa0808/vox-director 2.1k, adithya-s-k/manim_skill 1.1k (3Blue1Brown-style animation).
  • Editing: FireRed-OpenStoryline 3.5k, OpenChatCut 2.1k. Premiere Pro MCP servers are also here, including ayushozha/AdobePremiereProMCP, which claims 1,027 tools. An After Effects MCP is listed too.
  • Motion graphics: diffusionstudio/lottie 5.5k, nolangz/pixel2motion 2.4k.
  • Avatars: most of the 5 entries are tied to HeyGen.

Several tools are not purely local. Some need paid or external APIs, such as Atlas Cloud, Veo, ElevenLabs, FAL.ai or the HeyGen API. patraxo/ltx2-vidgen-skill self-hosts LTX-2.3 (22B) on Modal at "~$0.02 per…".

How to use it

Use the machine-readable feed at data/skills.json, or the live page with filters. To add a repo, open an issue with its GitHub URL. Additions go through the same review: "the rules above decide, stars do not."

Limits

  • Grades marked CAUTION: howseen-ai/claude-motion-design, wshuyi/remotion-video-skill and ops120/video-recap-skills-plus. Every other entry shown is SAFE. Since SAFE reflects only the README and install steps, check the code yourself before running anything.
  • Language: a large share of the entries, and the stated workflows behind them, target Chinese-language content and platforms such as Douyin, Bilibili and Jianying.
  • Classification errors: some entries appear in more than one category, for example lemo-opuscar and ClaudeAnimationBase. JimLiu/taohuayuan ("3D 网页") is listed even though the rules exclude 3D web pages.
  • Preview images: these are included only for permissively licensed projects (see assets/previews/NOTICE.md). The list itself does not state licences for the entries, so check each one.
