Daily Vibe Casting (@vibecastingapp) on X
Daily Vibe Casting is an X thread dated 24 October 2026 that summarises ten tech news items from the previous 24 hours. The AI items are Cloudflare's model-independent agent security audit skill, Recursive SI's Apache 2.0 Flint local coding model (125+ tokens/s on an M4 Pro), Anthropic's Claude Duet preview and Claude API version 2026-10-21, which drops temperature, top_p and top_k. It also covers HeyGen Voice Turbo and Gemini in Google Maps on CarPlay.
What it claims
Daily Vibe Casting's thread of 24 October 2026 lists ten items. Half of them are security incidents that need action from teams running the affected software. The existing summary covers only the AI items. The thread adds operational details on those items and on four security stories:
- a Railway secret-theft warning
- a GitLab CVSS 10.0 flaw
- two PHP remote code execution flaws
- a UK ICO reprimand
How to use it
GitLab. CVE-2026-110264 scores CVSS 10.0. It allows unauthenticated code execution on self-managed servers. The thread says around 12 years of releases need urgent upgrades. GitLab.com is already protected.
PHP. Two flaws found by AI allow remote code execution without logging in. Patches cover PHP 8.2 and newer. Some European governments took public sites offline. No exploitation has been reported. Wiz, a security firm, called them the "most severe vulnerabilities ever discovered" (the quote is cut off on the page).
Railway. Railway paused builds and deployments and asked upstream providers to revoke keys. It told users to rotate secrets and check service logs.
Claude API version 2026-10-21. This is the first official API version since 2023. Besides removing temperature, top_p and top_k, it tightens input rules on the Messages API. The thread does not say which rules. Updated SDKs default to the new version, so an SDK upgrade changes the API version in use. Version 2023-06-01 is not deprecated. Anthropic says it will release versions more often, so that breaking changes can be handled before a new model requires them.
Cloudflare security audit skill. The repository is at github.com/cloudflare/sec…, and the URL is truncated on the page. The skill produces machine-readable reports. Its audits require sandboxing, proof of real impact and independent checks. The person quoted in the thread says to run it on all software, including with free models. They also say it finds more than an earlier model-based audit.
Flint (Recursive SI). Flint is Recursive SI's first model. Its weights are under Apache 2.0, aimed at private, offline coding agents. Reported speeds are 125+ tokens/s on an M4 Pro MacBook Pro and 150+ on RTX Spark. Recursive SI claims Flint is "up to 2x faster than comparable models" but does not name them. It was built with Recursive SI's automated research system, the Eureka Machine.
HeyGen Voice Turbo. The API endpoint costs $4 per million characters and is free until 30 November 2026. Turbo is the faster, cheaper mode of HeyGen's voice model. Voice Turbo ranks first and HeyGen Voice second on Artificial Analysis' text-to-speech leaderboard.
Claude Duet. Duet is a research preview limited to US Pro and Max subscribers through a waiting list. It keeps working with the user's device off and asks for approval before sensitive actions.
ICO reprimand. The UK ICO reprimanded Welsh bodies over a 2024 ransomware attack. The attackers entered through a test account whose password, "Password1", had not changed in 12 years. Data on 3,300 people, mostly children, was exposed.
Limits
The thread is a news digest of one or two sentences per item. It gives no affected version ranges for GitLab, no CVE numbers for PHP, and no list of the Claude input-rule changes. Flint's model size, context length and benchmark scores are not given, and its speed figures have no named baseline. The Cloudflare repository URL is truncated. The recommendation to use that repository comes from a quoted user, not from Cloudflare.
