Google Agent Skills

Google's official repository of Agent Skills covering Google products and technologies, including Google Cloud. Skills are installed selectively via `npx skills add google/skills`, and the repo also bundles Google product plugins combining Skills with MCP servers for use in agent harnesses.

TL;DR Google's official Agent Skills repo for Google Cloud and product integrations, installable via npx and bundling MCP server plugins.

How to use it

Install by selecting skills interactively from the repo through the npx command:

npx skills add google/skills

The command lets you pick specific skills rather than installing the whole set. Beyond bare Skills, the repo bundles Google product plugins that pair Skills with MCP servers for use inside agent harnesses — so adopting a plugin brings both the skill Markdown and its backing MCP server.

Coverage is Google products and technologies, explicitly including Google Cloud. Skills are authored as Markdown files, which is also the unit contributors are asked to file bugs against (reporting inaccuracies in the skill Markdown, or requesting new skills/recipes via feature request).

Limits

The skills are licensed under Apache 2.0 — free to copy, modify, and distribute per the LICENSE file. That is the one adoption-relevant fact the summary omits; if your build needs a permissive licence, this qualifies. The page states nothing about which specific skills exist, their quality, versioning, or how the plugins' MCP servers authenticate against Google services — you would need to run the interactive install to see the actual catalog.

Most of what this page carries — the install command, the plugin bundling, the Google Cloud scope — the existing summary already states. The genuinely new, actionable detail is narrow: the Apache 2.0 licence. If that were already known, there would be nothing here to act on.
