Awesome Remote MCP Servers is a curated GitHub list of hosted Model Context Protocol servers that you connect to by URL, with no local install. Entries are listed only after the endpoint answers an MCP initialize handshake. It explains local versus remote servers, shows connection examples for Claude Code and mcp.json, marks auth as none, API key or OAuth, and groups servers into about 40 categories.

TL;DR Lists hosted remote MCP server endpoints by category, with auth type and connection examples, each checked with an initialize handshake.

What it claims

The list is a directory of hosted MCP endpoints. Each entry gives a homepage link, the literal endpoint URL, an auth icon and a one-line description. Endpoints use Streamable HTTP or legacy SSE transport, not stdio. Servers you run yourself are listed in a separate list, punkpeye/awesome-mcp-servers. Entries with a Glama connector badge have been scored independently for tool definition quality (tdqs.dev) and endpoint health. Several entries have no badge, including Fatstack, Cloudflare Browser Rendering, Cloudflare Bindings and Made Good Designs.

How to use it

Most clients take a bare URL. The page's examples, verbatim:

claude mcp add --transport http linear https://mcp.linear.app/mcp
{
 "mcpServers": {
 "linear": {
 "url": "https://mcp.linear.app/mcp"
 }
 }
}

The mcp.json form works for Cursor, VS Code and other clients that read that format. In Claude.ai and ChatGPT, the URL goes under Settings → Connectors. OAuth servers open a browser window on first use. API-key servers usually expect an Authorization: Bearer header.

Endpoints from major vendors in the shown portion include Zapier (https://mcp.zapier.com/api/mcp/mcp), Figma (https://mcp.figma.com/mcp), Canva (https://mcp.canva.com/mcp), Whimsical (https://mcp.whimsical.com/mcp), Cloudflare Browser Rendering (https://browser.mcp.cloudflare.com/mcp) and Cloudflare Bindings (https://bindings.mcp.cloudflare.com/mcp). All of these use OAuth.

Limits

The "none" icon (🔓) does not always mean the tools are free to call. Many 🔓 entries say in their description that tool calls need a key, a free key or a prepaid balance. Examples are CleanVector, GoodSign, Superpowers, Suprsonic, Store API and CurlShot. Pushary is marked both 🔓 and 🔑. Read the description before assuming anonymous access.

A large share of entries charge per call in USDC over the x402 protocol, mostly on Base. This applies to most of the Aggregators section, including Agent Deals, AgentBIT, AgentRXI, PayAPI Market and Vextorium, and to some entries elsewhere. APEX, for example, charges $1 per call. Many entries are small or new services. Several homepage links carry UTM campaign parameters, which suggests vendors submitted the entries themselves.

The listing test checks only that an endpoint answers an MCP initialize handshake. It does not show tool quality, uptime or who runs the server. Treat the Glama badge as the only quality signal on the page. The page also carries a sponsored banner for ray.run, marked "Ad".

This analysis is based on the first 60,000 of about 503,700 characters. Only the Aggregators, Agreements & Coordination, Agriculture, Art & Design, Browser Automation and part of Cloud Platforms sections were reviewed. The Contributing and Community sections and the remaining categories were not.
