A Twitter/X thread reacting to OpenAI's announcement that ChatGPT Sites can now host MCP servers, including turning plugin extensions into deployable MCP servers (e.g. "@sites create a todo list that I can use in ChatGPT"). User Dave Gilbert (@docgotham) flags a concrete operational bug: with a ChatGPT Pro account, custom MCP servers can't be refreshed — disconnecting/reconnecting or even deleting and re-adding a server still serves the old cached plugin version after an update.
TL;DR ChatGPT Sites can now host and deploy MCP servers as plugins, but a user reports Pro accounts persistently serve stale cached versions of custom MCP servers even after reconnect or delete/re-add.
