A short account of switching from a split Neo4j (relationships) + separate vector DB (embeddings) setup — which required manually reconciling IDs whenever an agent wrote a fact — to NornicDB, a single Go-based graph+vector store that speaks Bolt/Cypher and bundles an MCP server in one process. The point is that agents can query a unified memory store without an app layer babysitting two separate databases.

TL;DR Ditched separate Neo4j + vector DB for agent memory in favor of NornicDB, a single Go graph+vector store with a built-in MCP server.
