Agent Skills is an open standard in which a skill is a folder with a SKILL.md file plus scripts and reference material. Anthropic is donating the name, logo, GitHub organization and agentskills.io domain to the Agentic AI Foundation under the Linux Foundation. Over 70 platforms have integrated it, with 1 million skills published and nearly 280 million installs. The proposed roadmap covers versioned releases, a proposal process and security guidance.
Anthropic describes its program of independent third-party evaluators for frontier model risk assessment. METR has six staff with employee-like access and publication rights, and Anthropic cannot veto publication but can require redaction of predefined categories. The post sets out three access tiers and names SecureBio, Accenture and Faculty as other partners.
Anthropic's post on Claude's election safeguards ahead of the 2026 US midterms. An analysis of 250,000 conversations found politics at about 5.75% of US Claude.ai chats and requests for voting advice at 0.01%. It covers 99% scores on its political evenhandedness evaluation, third-party reviews, ISD and McCain Institute red-teaming that found multi-step misuse slipped through, new classifiers, and banned influence-operation accounts.
Anthropic's post on defenses against illicit distillation of Claude, which it says cut reasoning tokens harvested by distillers 10 to 100 times. The methods are preserved thinking (no editing of prior context for accounts created on or after 31 August 2026), a two-stage classifier with under 0.1% false positives, and stricter limits, bans and charges for blocked requests. It also covers trade-offs and the GLM-5.3 and Kimi cases.
Anthropic's Usage Policy update, effective November 12, summarizes changes to the rules governing Claude. It adds a deceptive campaigns section, narrows the elections section and drops the blanket ban on personalized vote targeting. It also clarifies bans on weapons software and surveillance, restates human-in-the-loop requirements for high-risk uses, and adds controls for hardware, abuse of models and supported regions.
Anthropic's expanded Cyber Verification Program (CVP) merges Project Glasswing and the earlier CVP into three access tiers (Defense, Red Team, Specialized) for Claude Opus 5.5, Sonnet 5.5 and Mythos 5.1, each with different verification and security controls. On CyScenarioBench with Opus 5.5, Defense Access blocked 46 of 50 trials, Red Team Access none. Glasswing partners reported at least 129,000 verified vulnerabilities between April and July 2026.
Anthropic announces a partnership with Accenture, led by its specialist AI business Faculty, to embed independent evaluators inside Anthropic. They will red-team models, run alignment assessments and test safeguards with access comparable to an employee's. Each company expects to invest at least $1 billion over five years. Anthropic funds Accenture directly, is in talks with METR on pilots, and says no standards yet exist for access or reporting.
