Socket reports on a GitHub issue in the OpenCode tracker describing a bypass of per-IP usage limits on free hosted models, using a VPN to switch addresses. The reporter first urged account-based limits, then claimed to run 130 concurrent agents through the loophole. After the issue drew harassment it was deleted. Whether OpenCode fixed the bypass in October 2026 stays unclear.
vlt 1.5.0 adds a `vlt skills` command that finds agent skills (SKILL.md folders) in installed JavaScript dependencies and links them into directories coding agents read, such as .agents/skills and .claude/skills. Selections are saved as allow-skills in vlt.json, tied to the lockfile version, and kept current on install and update. Without a saved selection, linking defaults to :not(:malware) using Socket malware alerts. pnpm 12.11.0 added similar linking.
Reports that arXiv now caps each submitter at two submissions per calendar month, on top of the existing three-active-submission limit, with rejected papers counting toward the cap. It gives the data behind the change: 40,363 submissions in September, up from 20,569 a year earlier, cs.AI growing more than sixfold in two years, and the rejection rate rising from about 4% to 10–12%. It also covers the earlier measures (no CS review or position papers without peer review, stricter endorsement, one-year bans for unchecked AI output) and researcher criticism of applying the cap to everyone.
