Rounded Gaussians are Discrete Gaussians
Rounded Gaussians are Discrete Gaussians is an IACR ePrint paper (2026/2583) by Corentin Jeudy. It shows that setting the rounded Gaussian parameter to sigma = s - 1/(24s) gives a distribution within Rényi divergence 1 + O(1/s^8) of a discrete Gaussian of parameter s. Lattice schemes can then use the simple, constant-time-friendly, low-memory rounded sampler while analyzing security against an ideal discrete Gaussian.
TL;DR Proves a corrected rounded Gaussian sampler is Rényi-close to a discrete Gaussian, enabling fast constant-time lattice sampling.
