Critical Linux kernel flaw allows remote root attacks on MPTCP serversCVE-2026-98432 is a use-after-free race condition in the Linux kernel IPv4 TCP code (tcp_v4_syn_recv_sock, ireq_opt), affecting kernels back to 4.4 and rated 9.8 by the kernel CVE team (Red Hat rates it 5.9). Anthropic researchers say an unreleased Claude model built an exploit that bypassed KASLR and got remote root on an MPTCP listener in about 53 minutes. The article lists distro patch status and CIQ's nftables mitigation for IP options; disabling MPTCP alone does not help. No in-the-wild exploitation is reported.

TeamViewer Flaw Could Let Malicious Hosts Take Over Support Technicians’ MachinesCVE-2026-111585 (CVSS 8.8) is an integer overflow in the remote-control screen processing of TeamViewer clients on Windows, macOS, Linux and Android. A malicious or compromised host can announce an oversized screen surface (for example 32768 by 32768 at 32 bpp), forcing a software decode path and an out-of-bounds write that crashes the viewer or runs code. Remedio's research shows a pointer overwrite routed to WinExec. Version 15.83 fixes it, along with CVE-2026-92372, CVE-2026-92374 and six local privilege escalation bugs.

CISA warns of Fragnesia Linux flaw chained in PHP2Shell attacksFragnesia (CVE-2026-46300) is a Linux kernel XFRM ESP-in-TCP logic bug in the Dirty Frag class that gives local attackers root, with a public PoC. CISA added it to the KEV catalog and ordered federal patching under BOD 26-04. Attackers chain it with PHP2Shell (CVE-2026-109618, CVE-2026-109619) to implant PHP webshells. Dream Security tied the chain to 25 rooted servers in the US, Japan, Taiwan and South Korea.

DailyDarkWeb post summarising Anthropic Frontier Red Team research published 27 October 2026. An unreleased internal Claude research model built five attack chains: Chrome sandbox escape (V8 heap bug, CacheStorage race, FedCM use-after-free), a Safari same-origin policy bypass, data extraction from a locked Pixel 9 over USB, a Windows QUIC kernel crash (CVE-2026-33096) and zero-click Linux root via multipath TCP (CVE-2026-98432). Anthropic says all flaws are fixed, including 62 Chrome CVEs as of Chrome 156. The post notes the chains are not independently reproduced.

Node2Shell: Reproducing CVE-2026-111497 in the Node.js Brotli decoderNode2Shell is Datadog Security Labs' analysis of CVE-2026-111497, an out-of-bounds write in the Google Brotli 1.2.0 decoder, fixed in Node.js 22.23.4, 24.22.1 and 26.12.1 on 21 October 2026. It explains the unchecked return value in DecodeBlockTypeAndLength(), the read and write primitives, and why code execution is still engineering effort. It lists inbound and outbound exposure paths, behavioral detections and what WAFs miss.

Trail of Bits post says it achieved remote code execution through a Brotli decoder bug in Linux lab setups: Node.js 24.22.0 with Express 5.3.0 via the standard JSON parser (x86-64 and ARM64), and Electron 41.10.7 (x86-64) with a custom decoding service. Exploitation needs a carefully matched setup and repeated attempts. A scanner by ToBScottA finds hidden copies of the decoder, including in stripped binaries.

Social Engineering: Modem-Based Persistence in a Compromised EnvironmentThe article describes reflashing a Huawei E3372h-153 HiLink 4G USB modem so its embedded Linux OS runs an OpenVPN client over the mobile network, creating a covert, network-independent persistence channel after physical USB access. It walks through enabling debug mode, flashing firmware, disabling CD-ROM emulation, configuring DHCP and autorun scripts, and chaining a second L2VPN tunnel to bridge the attacker directly onto the victim's Ethernet segment for tools like Responder. Defense guidance focuses on restricting USB ports and disabling USB network adapters via policy.

CVE-2026-106173 is a critical (CVSS 9.4) unauthenticated arbitrary file write in FortiSIEM's phQueryMaster gRPC service on port 27918/TCP. The SendQueryResult method builds a path from the query-id parameter without validation, so "../" sequences escape the directory and a null byte drops the appended filename and extension.
