Sotto Maschera: Masking the Sota-Voce Fixed-Weight Vector Sampling
Sotto Maschera is a masked implementation of the Sota Voce sparse fixed-weight vector sampler (Sota support sampler and MWSupport conversion) for embedded devices, protecting against power side-channel attacks. It bitslices sorting, merging and compaction and masks only in the Boolean domain, avoiding slow conversions. TVLA evaluations show no leakage, and HQC runs up to 45x faster than previous masked work.
TL;DR Presents a Boolean-masked, bitsliced fixed-weight vector sampler for HQC that shows no TVLA leakage and runs up to 45x faster than prior masked designs.
