I'm Worried About a Prompt Injection Worm
Daniel Miessler's essay forecasts that the first big AI hack could be a prompt injection worm spreading through the many parsers and integrations that connect AI agents to internal systems. He describes a loud mass-exfiltration variant and a quieter targeted credential-abuse variant, and says defenses may lose to increasingly capable unrestricted open source models. His advice: inventory where AI touches your stack, threat-model each integration, layer defenses, and prepare incident response.
TL;DR Predicts a prompt injection worm abusing AI agent parsers and integrations, and urges inventorying AI touchpoints and layered defenses.
