AWS Security Reference Architecture: A deep dive into PCI DSS compliance
AWS announces the AWS Security Reference Architecture (SRA) PCI DSS Deep Dive, an extension of the core AWS SRA that maps multi-account landing zone account types to PCI DSS scoping boundaries (in-scope, connected-to/security-impacting, out-of-scope) and layers PCI-specific controls — additional logging, encryption, and network restrictions — onto baseline AWS SRA service configurations. The guide targets security architects, compliance engineers, cloud platform teams, and QSAs/ISAs, and includes architecture diagrams and requirement-mapping tables usable as a narrative read-through or as a standalone reference during assessments.
TL;DR AWS publishes an SRA extension mapping multi-account architecture patterns and controls directly to PCI DSS requirements.
