Clean-label poisoning attack can fool vehicle-network AI without changing labels
Clean-label poisoning attack on federated learning for Basic Safety Message anomaly detection in vehicular networks, from Sagduyu, Erpek, Stephenson and Xue (paper submitted 23 October 2026). The attack perturbs benign samples toward malicious feature extremes without changing labels, which lowers class separability, and it grows stronger with more compromised nodes. A feature-consistency relabeling defense keeps attack success low without hurting clean accuracy, and a game-theoretic model shifts equilibria against attacking.
TL;DR Reports a paper showing label-preserving feature-space poisoning breaks federated anomaly detection in vehicle networks, plus a relabeling defense.
