What this is

A brief discussion on how enterprise security organizations and security leaders handle the risks of AI adoption. The speaker compares modern AI deployment to early cloud migration, noting that employees and developers spin up autonomous agents without governance. The talk contrasts internal AI adoption with the threat of adversaries using AI for rapid reconnaissance across corporate networks, directing CISOs to focus on visibility, guardrails, and operational recoverability.

Why it is in the catalog

Security leaders and engineers would consult this talk to review strategic priorities for autonomous enterprise systems. The discussion addresses the shrinking timeline between vulnerability discovery and exploitation, emphasizing why static vulnerability scans are insufficient against AI-assisted adversaries. It highlights the need for continuous exposure management, behavioral monitoring for agent integrations, and resilient architecture designed for rapid recovery after breaches.

So from an AI adoption perspective um you know I look at it both from how organizations are leveraging AI in their workflow how their AI how the employees are using AI from just co-pilot claude like to do their work and then also So what security organizations have to focus on is how the bad actors [music] are also using AI from an attack perspective. Um so that's a lot when you think about CISOs and security organizations. They still [music] have to maintain and protect organizations what I call like the legacy environments. Uh which legacy could have been what was created [music] two months ago. Um now they're adding that additional kind of layer on that they've got to protect. [music] Um so from a priority perspective I think the first thing is always like [music] having that visibility and understanding what AI is being used in your environment um is really critical. Um and then I think also looking to see how from a governance perspective [music] how are you designing that in a from a secure architecture and that into the system [music] because that velocity is moving so much quicker. You've got to really be able to keep up with that [music] um from just a defense perspective. So from a cyber resilience perspective, um I'll kind of tie that back to the AI adoption perspective and then [music] also from the threat actors also leveraging AI. Um you know just what we recently heard in the news really around mythos and just kind of that ability like bad actors are leveraging now AI to look at your estate and find those vulnerabilities at that rapid speed. [music] Um so due to that you know we're seeing much already an increase in attacks. Um, I've [music] always said as an enterprise practitioner before, um, years ago as a CISO that, you know, you've got to be like [music] you got to have the right security and place from prevention perspective so you create like that least odds like you're like you're the the [music] best protected network out there. Um, at this point, you know, I see organizations really have to have that resilience built in to really ensure [music] recoverability. Um, when you look at breaches, breaches happen. They're happening more and I think we're going to continue to see [music] that just with bad actors leveraging AI and organizations not having their vulnerabilities and their exposures really contained [music] at this point. Um, organizations are going to have breaches. It's really going to be how [music] how quickly are they able to recover and are they able to recover their business operations that's really going to help make them sustainable. So I compare the adoption of AI to more if you think about what we did in cloud 5 10 years ago but the speed and velocity is a lot quicker. Um you look at who could spin up a SAS environment years ago. Um [music] you know a lot of developers and IT teams could without the PI for governance. You've got AI agents being created [music] 10 times that today. Um, with that again I go back to how do you ensure the right visibility around those agents being being created and then also what are they connected to across your environment uh from a compliance perspective [music] is going to be really key to develop those guard rails so we know what in what behavior um what that agent's allowed to do so we can start really alerting and monitoring really on those anomalies across the environment. >> [music] >> When I look at security leaders, what they're challenged to do today, um I would say that the role they're playing across organizations is probably the most [music] challenging and dynamic one across all enterprise organizations today. [music] Um and you know, you've got organizations that are really wanting to run quickly and adopt AI um to really help grow their business [music] and survive in the marketplace. you've got security organizations that are really trying to balance [music] how do I really help secure again back to the legacy environment and then also how do I lean in and help organizations really adopt AI in a secure [music] way um and I'm a you know I'm a big believer of the business IT and security really working together um across that strategic those decisions [music] and developing again understanding what agents are going to be used for looking at identifying use cases [music] and then having the right governance and visibility from the beginning um so you can really design that secure [music] architecture and strategy from the onset. So with really the offense and defense changing rapidly um for organizations, ahead has been working with several partners across the security ecosystem to develop solutions where we are able to continuously test and evaluate an organization's security posture and exposure management [music] and then help them really work on the rem the prioritization of those remediations. [music] Um again just with the speed and velocity happening organizations have not been able to keep up [music] and remediate those criticals and high vulnerabilities and exposures for years and this is just compounding that risk even more for organizations. So we're able to help them identify but also [music] prioritize based on chaining based on just critical highs where those assets sit in their environment but also helping them now with remediation. So we're helping to [music] identify and remediate in a condensed time to really help them, [music] you know, help them adopt uh from an AI perspective, but also um help them stay resilient >> [music] >> um as the attackers are leveraging AI more. So with attackers now leveraging AI um and [music] again the frequency of that the being able to really you know identify and do >> [music] >> um reconnaissance across an organization's environments and days instead of weeks and months and years that attackers have in the past. Organizations now need to shift [music] and increase the frequency of their exposure management more their validation and their testing [music] but also on the the speed of their remediation. And so ahead today we can help them do the continuous validation um across their environments but also again help helping them prioritize the remediation and some of that is also helping design architectures upfront in a way uh and helping with developers on how they're writing their code and now agents writing their code helping how do we help test that and validate that quicker and do the fixes real >> [music]
