The FBI attributed the roughly $6.3 billion Binance theft of about 29 October 2026 to North Korea's TraderTraitor (Lazarus Group, Jade Sleet, APT38). Binance traced the breach to a compromised DevOps engineer's laptop that gave access to a service container used to submit unauthorized withdrawals across ten blockchains. The FBI published 628 laundering addresses and linked the group to earlier thefts at Bybit, DMM Bitcoin, Bitget and Drift.

SemiAnalysis analysis of how the November 2026 US midterms could affect datacenter buildout. About 75% of the 33.8 GW due in 2027 across the top 20 states is already under construction, but 43.5 GW of 2028 additions sit in 13 states with pending approvals. The biggest risk is a prolonged Texas TCEQ permit freeze. Texas holds close to 30% of 2028 GW, and nine of 20 nominees back a pause.

The Block reports that North Korean hackers (TraderTraitor) laundered about $242 million of funds stolen from Binance through Tron in two days, according to analyst SomaXBT. Relay, THORChain, Chainflip and Symbiosis moved about $140 million off Tron. Elliptic counts $2.85 billion frozen or seized, 44% of $6.43 billion stolen, and $3.25 billion in assets no issuer can freeze. The FBI urged THORChain and others to block listed addresses.

Secure Courier is a consent flow in Tollbooth DPYC, a monetization network for paid MCP services, that lets an AI agent act for a Nostr npub without holding the user's nsec. The service sends a signed, sealed direct message over Nostr relays, the user replies with a signed approval and an expiry, and the service issues its own encrypted grant. Lonnie VanZandt presents it as an alternative to central identity providers and CIBA. The thread gives no audit results.
Report on the $6.3 billion Binance hack of October 2026, which the FBI attributed to North Korea's TraderTraitor unit. Co-CEO Richard Teng said attackers used EIP-7702 to gain execution approval over a hot wallet, after a compromised laptop and further breach points, and used self-destructing malware. Binance replaced 90% of the assets, and the FBI expects further laundering through Ethereum. No IOCs or mitigations are given.

Mashable reports, citing Tom's Hardware, that Anthropic's Claude has quietly begun restricting modding, decompiling and reverse-engineering of video game code. Anthropic has made no official announcement. The article ties the change to AI-assisted game ports and mods, the PlayStation 5 jailbreak and Take-Two's subpoenas after the GTA6 leaks. It notes the irony of AI firms now guarding copyright, and the risk that less restrictive LLMs win users.

Chainalysis confirmed on 30 October 2026 that an external actor accessed its systems and internal tools earlier in October, using what it called "offensive agentic techniques". Exposed data covers some customers' names, emails, job titles, user IDs and role labels. Chainalysis says it has found no access to passwords, session tokens or investigation content so far, and customers should expect targeted phishing. Affected-customer counts and the exploited vulnerabilities are not disclosed.
Northflank, a cloud application hosting platform, disclosed a breach on 30 October 2026 after a Wiz threat alert and told customers to assume all environment variables were decrypted and to rotate secrets. Customers reported unauthorized use of AI API keys. Wiz's "Black October for AI Developer Platforms" report counts at least nine incidents, including Railway, OpenCode, Warp and Lightning AI, and describes LLMJacking, with about 2.5 million Amazon Bedrock calls costing roughly $100,000 in two cases. It carries typed findings on tokens, approvals, addresses, payments (x402) and texts, and each finding is marked read or not read. It has no score or verdict, so the consumer applies its own policy. The paper treats a benchmark as an empirical measure over item difficulty and formalizes two failure modes: measure mismatch (benchmark difficulty distribution differs from the intended one) and coverage gaps (uncovered difficulty regions that hide localized training progress). It proposes two diagnostic metrics with theoretical guarantees and analyzes 25 popular benchmarks across 7 domains using estimated item difficulties. It also introduces BenchFill, a difficulty-targeted item rewriting algorithm that reduces local coverage gaps.
