  1. Critical Linux kernel flaw allows remote root attacks on MPTCP servers

CVE-2026-98432 is a use-after-free race condition in the Linux kernel IPv4 TCP code (tcp_v4_syn_recv_sock, ireq_opt), affecting kernels back to 4.4 and rated 9.8 by the kernel CVE team (Red Hat rates it 5.9). Anthropic researchers say an unreleased Claude model built an exploit that bypassed KASLR and got remote root on an MPTCP listener in about 53 minutes. The article lists distro patch status and CIQ's nftables mitigation for IP options; disabling MPTCP alone does not help. No in-the-wild exploitation is reported.

Microsoft Threat Intelligence analysis of two human-operated intrusions that began with Teams help desk impersonation and Quick Assist sessions, then diverged at AD CS. Case 1 abused an ESC1 template for privileged certificates and DCSync, with an excluded account later used for Rclone exfiltration. Case 2 used PetitPotam and ESC8 relay to get a domain controller certificate and PKINIT. Includes investigation steps, AD CS hardening and KQL hunting queries.

  3. TeamViewer Flaw Could Let Malicious Hosts Take Over Support Technicians’ Machines

CVE-2026-111585 (CVSS 8.8) is an integer overflow in the remote-control screen processing of TeamViewer clients on Windows, macOS, Linux and Android. A malicious or compromised host can announce an oversized screen surface (for example 32768 by 32768 at 32 bpp), forcing a software decode path and an out-of-bounds write that crashes the viewer or runs code. Remedio's research shows a pointer overwrite routed to WinExec. Version 15.83 fixes it, along with CVE-2026-92372, CVE-2026-92374 and six local privilege escalation bugs.

The author recommends disabling session.upload_progress as an interim mitigation, noting the underlying memory corruption requires a full PHP patch to fix.

It walks through turning each memory bug into addrof/fakeobj primitives, chaining either with the sandbox escape to reclaim a freed V8 isolate via a WebSocket allocation, and pivoting through a CFI-constrained ROP chain to achieve Chrome renderer code execution, earning two v8CTF flags. In another it found a robotic arm, mapped its protection zones and motion limits, and moved it. Existing defenses slowed some actions but no single safeguard stopped the agents. 88. ThreatWire (@ThreatWire_) on X

Post announcing a public PoC for CVE-2026-13043, a critical flaw (CVSS 4.0 9.3, scored by WatchGuard) in PSKMAD, the kernel memory access driver of WatchGuard Endpoint Security on Windows. The access-control handshake can be bypassed (CWE-306/CWE-798), letting a local authenticated attacker send privileged commands and read kernel and other processes' memory. Fixed in 8.00.26.0012; the PoC author and LOLDrivers frame the signed driver as BYOVD material, which WatchGuard does not say. The post notes it is not in CISA KEV, has no reported in-the-wild exploitation, and that ThreatWire has not run the PoC.

  90. Telegram Desktop vulnerability allowed any user's file to be stolen

Writeup of a two-bug chain in Telegram Desktop: the single-instance local-socket IPC does not escape the semicolon record separator, so a clicked tg:// link injects extra OPEN: commands, which reach the internal interpret: scheme (InterpretSendPath) that reads an arbitrary file and sends it to a chat with no authorization or confirmation. The author plants instruction files via auto-download in a group, then exfiltrates tdata/key_datas and session files (no local passcode means an empty-password KEK) to take over the account. Fixed in 7.2.9 by removing interpret: and escaping separators; the post lists mitigations such as a local passcode and restricting who can add you to groups.

Attackers chain an authentication bypass with OS command injection via the Replication Receiver API to gain unauthenticated RCE with System privileges, drop JSP webshells, deploy XMRig cryptominers disguised as Microsoft Edge, achieve persistence using a modified NSSM binary as a fake Microsoft Edge Update service, and load the vulnerable WinRing0x64.sys driver for kernel-level miner access (BYOVD). At least five organizations were targeted as of October 8; Huntress recommends restricting management-interface access until a patch is released.

VulnCheck's exploit development team analyzes CVE-2026-76504, a critical zero-day authentication bypass in Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN Manager (vManage), reproduced to the point of a weaponized exploit. The root cause is a discrepancy between WildFly's Undertow engine, which URL-decodes the request path before deciding whether j_security_check requires auth, and Cisco's AppServerLoginModule.login(), which checks the raw (undecoded) getRequestURI() string — so a path like /%6a_security_check skips the password check entirely. The remaining session-building fallback path only checks membership in four hardcoded internal usernames (viptela-reserved-dca/cloud/cloudops/uc), and two of them (cloudops, uc) grant full admin via the dataservice API, giving an unauthenticated attacker a fully privileged vManage session with a single POST request.

  113. Formalization of the Invariant Duality Theorem

An Ethereum Magicians forum post formalizes an "Invariant Duality Theorem": in a permissionless network, a protocol cannot simultaneously achieve Perfect Indistinguishability (traffic statistically indistinguishable from white noise under DPI) and Resource Exhaustion Resistance (O(1) early rejection of junk packets). The proof sketch argues that indistinguishable traffic forces receivers to run expensive deobfuscation on all packets including attacker-generated noise (enabling DoS), while any cheap early-filter function, by Kerckhoffs's principle, becomes a public signature a censor can hardware-implement to block the protocol. This is a theoretical tradeoff relevant to designing or attacking covert/anti-censorship transport protocols.
