LLM 0.37 is a release of Simon Willison's LLM CLI tool and Python library, covering about two months of changes. It adds gpt-6.1-sol and gpt-6.1-terra, a new `llm openai endpoint add` command for OpenAI-compatible endpoints, and a cheaper default model, gpt-6-luna. Embeddings now accept differing content types, as Gemini Embedding 2 needs. Willison says AI-assisted PRs from 12 authors were easy to review.

Training activation classifiers for safety and alignment describes how OpenAI trains lightweight probes on a model's residual stream activations to flag misaligned or policy-violating completions. Probes use an MLP plus QV-attention architecture with an exponential moving average and a rolling softmax objective. They run in streaming mode on the inference engine, have run on all assistant completions since GPT-5.6, and transfer well across post-training checkpoints but less across pre-training checkpoints.

Bankless news report on Binance reopening withdrawals in phases on 1 November 2026 after a record $6B+ hack. The FBI named North Korea's TraderTraitor group on 31 October, listed 628 addresses tied to the theft and asked THORChain node operators, instant exchanges and DeFi services to block them. Chainalysis says $500M moved out of TRON wallets and funds are shifting to Solana. Binance published a new proof of reserves covering 10 tokens.

BTCPay Server, an open-source self-hosted cryptocurrency payment processor, reports attackers draining hot wallets on instances running version 2.4.1 (July 23, 2026) or earlier. Attackers logged in as administrators on versions older than 2.4.2. Users should update to 2.4.7; the exploited flaw is not disclosed. An October 29 critical vulnerability found by Anthropic's Frontier OSS scanner prompted 2.4.7. The August 7 release 2.4.2 had already warned of an exploited LND credential exposure.

Malicious versions 2.1.312 and 2.1.313 of the anthropic.claude-code extension were live in the Cursor VS Code Extension Marketplace for about 11 hours on October 29. The JavaScript ran at module load, collected host details, tried to install an SSH key, open a reverse SSH tunnel and set persistence on macOS and Windows. Kevin Beaumont estimates about 5,000 downloads. Cursor rotated keys, rebuilt the marketplace and published a detection script and IoCs; uninstalling alone does not remove the dropped persistence scripts.

DebugBear says its DNS records were compromised through its domain registrar, and attackers appear to have targeted one customer. The script abused open trading sessions to sell positions or move assets; 726 wallets were affected, and about 5,500 wallets received $1.19 million for halt and forced-sale losses.

LifeVal is an OpenAI evaluation that measures how well ChatGPT models complete everyday life tasks such as childcare search, government services, budgeting, shopping and health. Tasks were derived from the American Time Use Survey, the Multinational Time Use Study and a new demographically representative survey of 3,995 respondents. OpenAI says it used the eval over the past year to track gains in browser use, computer use and connectors. The fetched text gives no scores or task list.
Adversa AI's November 2026 roundup of 14 AI coding agent security resources from October. It covers CVE-2026-103572 (Visual Studio Copilot and SSMS RCE via trailing-dot filename), an unpatched Claude Code child-session hook bypass, a Copilot CLI cryptographic context injection, and a CVE-less opencode MCP OAuth RCE. It ends with a checklist for auditing agent configs and gateways.
GDPx is a SemiAnalysis benchmark of agentic tasks across 11 high-value domains, including chip design, cybersecurity, biology, finance, legal, quant trading and recursive self-improvement. Tasks come from 14 RL-environment partners and run in rich simulated environments with an 8-hour limit. The best model scores 12%. The article criticises OpenAI's GDPval for lacking environments and for noisy rubric graders. The fetched text is truncated, so later domain sections are missing.
