Five operator questions (next-step inference, entry-to-crown-jewel pathing, combined-severity promotion, evidence provenance, chokepoint identification) become reusable Cypher and Graph Data Science queries, plus a chain-severity score. The fix uses verifier-enforced disjoint evaluation domains and a pairing-based Fischlin-style instantiation with structured Reed-Solomon codes and jointly computed KZG openings. Chosen Ciphertext and Trapdoor Secure Public Key Authenticated Encryption with Keyword SearchMori and Emura give a generic transformation, a variant of the CHK transformation, that upgrades a public-key authenticated encryption with keyword search (PAEKS) scheme to one secure against chosen-ciphertext and trapdoor attacks (CCTA). It works because the PAEKS receiver names the sender when generating a trapdoor, so keywords can serve as tags. Applied to Li-Boyen generic PAEKS instantiations, it yields the first fully CCTA-secure PAEKS schemes from pairings and from lattices. Verification keys embedded in ciphertexts and trapdoors also let sender-receiver matching use hash tables, so search cost no longer depends on the number of senders.

It confines the advanced cryptography to issuance, so secure elements, credential formats, signature schemes and verifiers stay unchanged and deployment can be incremental.

Confidential Error-Correcting CodesIntroduces Confidential Error-correcting Codes (CECs), a primitive that decodes reliably from perturbed codewords while keeping the message confidential, defined by confidentiality, robustness and soundness. The Randomness-Security Separation framework encodes a nonce and masks the payload with a PRF; the Conc-CEC instantiation uses concatenated Reed-Muller and Reed-Solomon codes and claims stronger concrete security than PRCs (CRYPTO'24). The application, CECMark, watermarks AI-generated images and reportedly beats Gaussian Shading, PRCMark and T2SMark across 56 perturbations with a false positive rate below 1e-5 and no side effects.

Physical Side-Channel Attacks on Edge LLMs: Extracting Output Tokens and User PromptsPresents an EM side-channel attack on LLaMA-3.2-1B-Instruct running on a Raspberry Pi 5, showing passive physical measurements leak generated tokens and user prompts. Three attacks: a profiling attack (97.2% accuracy over 50 medical/privacy keywords), a hidden-state reconstruction attack predicting tokens from the 128k vocabulary (94.3% on profiled classes; 67% of unseen words ranked in top 100), and a hidden-state inversion attack reconstructing prompts semantically. Shows that local edge inference does not guarantee confidentiality of tokens and inputs.

Distinguishers for the Squeezing of the Alternating Sponge and DuetCryptanalysis of the Alternating Sponge (ASP) and Duet, a permutation-based hash candidate in China's ICCS Next Generation Commercial Cryptographic Algorithm program (NGCC). The authors give an O(2^r)-query distinguisher against ASP that contradicts its claimed indifferentiability bound in some parameter regimes. They also give a distinguisher and state-recovery attack on Duet's multi-block output, using O(2^(r+c-h)) permutation queries. Collision and preimage resistance are unaffected, but Duet used as a XOF or KDF is affected, and state recovery enables length extension.

Beyond the Monolithic Interface: A Research Agenda for Plural Conversational AIA narrative review in HCI arguing that the single-voice chatbot interface causes three harms: cognitive offloading, ideological narrowing of user beliefs, and epistemic compression of cultural and value diversity. It proposes multi-persona interfaces, which show several personas to the user at once, as a low-cost fix. The design draws on game design and participatory simulation (magic circle, role differentiation, persona embodiment). It offers a taxonomy for designing such interfaces and calls for empirical studies that link technical pluralistic alignment methods to real human-AI interaction.

Provable Subexponential Algorithms for Module-SIS and Module-LWEePrint preprint extending the DucasβEngelbertsβLoyer provable subexponential Gaussian sampler (built on Wagner's generalized birthday algorithm) to module matrices over power-of-two cyclotomic rings. It gives provable 2^{O(n/lnln n)}-time algorithms for Module-SIS and for decision and search Module-LWE using only the k+β ring samples provided, plus sample-preserving scalar search-LWE and narrow Module-LWE variants. Separate heuristic estimates suggest these Wagner-style attacks do not reach the NIST security targets of ML-KEM and ML-DSA.

New Constructions of Quadratic and Cubic Permutations Admitting Optimal Threshold ImplementationsePrint paper giving four constructions of optimal threshold implementations (t+1 shares, no fresh randomness) for bijective S-boxes, a masking countermeasure against differential power analysis and glitch leakage in hardware. It shows that Q30^5 admits optimal TIs, gives a matrix criterion for quadratic permutations (yielding new 6-bit classes), and gives a weighted interpolation construction for power permutations that disproves the Piccione et al. 2023 conjecture. It also gives a derivative-uniform framework that proves every 4-bit cubic permutation admits optimal TIs. A companion repo has TIs for 5-bit quadratic permutations, 4-bit cubic permutations, the PRESENT S-box and GF(16) inversion.

From Evidence to Action: How Tool-Using Agents FailThis paper studies where tool-using LLM agents break down in the chain from gathering evidence to taking consequential actions, finding that strong static judgment of whether to act often coexists with much weaker interactive execution, and that failures arise from incomplete investigation, acting before evidence is established, or unresolved prerequisites in multi-action workflows. The authors introduce SafeActBench, a 656-case benchmark across six operational domains and five protocols, paired with a provenance-bound Evidence Ledger and a deterministic trajectory evaluator tested across ten model-harness configurations.

Revisiting Lattice-based Blind Signatures AgainThis IACR ePrint paper by Yi-Fu Lai and Yu Yu breaks the blindness property of a lattice-based blind signature scheme presented at Crypto 2020, which uses a linear hash function framework instantiated over lattices. The authors first identify an overlooked bug in the scheme's original blindness security proof, then construct a concrete attack under an honest-key, honest-but-curious signer model by exploiting correlations between leaves of the scheme's tree structure, and discuss how the construction can be repaired.

RECAST: Learning to Compute the Right Context through Adaptive Evidence RoutingRECAST (Routing Evidence through Computation, Access, and Synthesized Tools) reframes retrieval-augmented generation as a sequential decision process: a lightweight RouterLM iteratively selects or formulates primitive/custom operations, a frozen CompilerLM turns custom operations into executable code, and a frozen AnswerLM produces the final answer once evidence is judged sufficient. RouterLM is trained with supervised fine-tuning followed by GRPO, and the system reaches a 75.6% mean success rate across six heterogeneous benchmark families, beating the strongest large-model baseline by 15.9% and a training-free Gemini 3.5 Flash router by 5.0%, with strong zero-shot generalization on three held-out benchmarks. It targets tasks where evidence must be derived through filtering, aggregation, or computation across multiple sources rather than retrieved verbatim.

Fault-tolerant foundation modelsThis arXiv paper shows that large language models can be trained to tolerate unreliable, faulty digital hardware, and that their error resilience improves rather than degrades as model size increases. Using modified neural scaling laws derived from 40,000 GPU-hours of training runs on simulated faulty hardware, the authors argue that LLMs learn to compute within "good" error-correcting codes whose relative overhead stays finite regardless of scale, suggesting a path toward running AI inference on low-energy, unreliable hardware for substantial energy savings.
