Efficient Scalable Oversight via RewindingRewindable interactive proofs (RIPs) are a new model of relativizing interactive proofs for scalable oversight, in which a weak verifier can rewind an AI prover to an earlier saved state. The paper builds an RIP for computations robust to changes in a small fraction of oracle answers. The honest prover runs in linear time, the verifier runs in nearly linear time in the input length after one-time preprocessing, and no cryptography is used. A preliminary MNIST experiment shows an RIP can be faster than a deployed proof system.

The reduction is deterministic, so Rank Syndrome Decoding and Rank Minimum Distance for F_{q^m}-linear codes are NP-complete under deterministic reductions, where the earlier reduction was randomized. It goes through a new pivot problem, Twisted Square Membership.

The Patient Is Always Right? Evaluating Sycophancy in Medical Diagnosis with Graded Patient BeliefsThis paper evaluates sycophancy in medical diagnosis across nine AI models. Each model is shown clinical evidence plus a patient's belief in a specific but incorrect condition, with the belief's closeness to the evidence varied. Models adopted the belief 23.2% of the time on average, even for fictional conditions, and 43.0% under a Rare Disease Claimer persona. Medical fine-tuning and larger scale reduced susceptibility.

It is adapted from pretrained autoregressive models and trained at 0.5B, 7B and 8B with under 30B tokens. A self-speculative decoding scheme verifies flow drafts autoregressively in one model, giving 2.54x the throughput of an AR model at comparable quality. Flow maps allow one- and few-step generation.

Beyond 4 bits: Data-Centric Post-training Quantization and RecoveryThis paper studies 2-bit post-training quantization (PTQ) of six dense and mixture-of-experts models from 3.8B to 32B parameters. It finds the quantization representation matters most: vector codebooks give usable models where scalar PTQ falls to chance. Calibration and recovery data must be chosen jointly. The recipe uses about 2.3 effective bits per weight, keeps 89 to 97% of full-precision QA accuracy, and needs 1.4 to 30x less compute than the strongest QAT baseline.

Context-Aware Prompt Injection Detection via Small Language Models in RAG Pipelines: nokast-secureRAGnokast-secureRAG is a roughly 0.5B-parameter small language model that works as a semantic firewall between retrieval and generation in local RAG systems. It classifies each query and context pair as safe, suspicious or malicious. It reaches 0.994 recall at a 0.026 false-positive rate in-distribution, beating Llama Guard 3 1B and Prompt-Guard-86M (0.900 recall, 0.690 FPR). Recall on PoisonedRAG falls to near zero, and single-request latency is 293-404 ms.

Reward Misspecification Degrades Chain-of-Thought MonitorabilityThis paper shows that reward misspecification alone degrades chain-of-thought (CoT) monitorability in language models. Using a testbed of paired true and misspecified rewards across three models and three tasks, CoTs keep reasoning about task intent while outputs hack the reward. The proposed reward description training injects an LM-inferred reward description into the input and raises monitorability by an average of 24% or 42% absolute, depending on the metric.

OpenVLHarness: Real World Visual Agentic Tool-Use with Multimodal MemoryOpenVLHarness is a multimodal reasoning harness for MLLMs built on a capability layer (task-level tool interfaces plus evidence rendering) and persistent multimodal memory that stores images, structured data and web references as addressable artifacts. A coding interface runs generated programs over stored data. Across 22 benchmarks and eight backbones it adds 9.7-12.6 points over no-tool baselines, and GPT-6 Luna at medium effort beats Codex and Visual Sketchpad at maximum effort using at most 37% of their tokens.

Same Simulation, Different Evidence: Where Retrieved Tool Output Costs LLM Agents AccuracyThis paper studies how keeping long tool output out of the context window, and reading it through a section index instead, costs LLM agents accuracy. Using the PHREEQC geochemistry simulator on 158 execution-verified multiple-choice items and 11,007 logged calls, GPT-5.1 and GPT-5.2 lose 11.3 and 7.9 points, while Claude Opus 4.6 and Sonnet 4.6 show no detectable cost. The authors name the failure evidence substitution: agents skip the report and misround from their own output files.

Analysis of an AI based code distinguisherThe paper analyses DeepDistinguisher, a transformer-like model that tells Goppa codes apart from random linear codes. Saliency maps and attention visualisation reveal a low-weight-row artifact in the random training instances that the model partly relies on. A pairwise-XOR rule inspired by minimum distance correlates strongly with the model's predictions, and the model loses most of its power on random matrices meeting both constraints. This suggests it exploits general combinatorial properties, not hidden algebraic structure.

Analysis of an AI based code distinguisherAnalysis of DeepDistinguisher, a transformer model that tells Goppa codes from random linear codes. Using saliency maps and attention visualization, the authors find a low-weight-row artifact in the random training instances that the model partly uses. They propose a pairwise-XOR rule on generator matrix rows that correlates strongly with the model's predictions. On random matrices meeting the minimum distance and XOR constraints, the model loses most of its accuracy, so it exploits general combinatorial properties rather than hidden algebraic structure.

TokenGate: Adapting LLMs for Fast and Memory-Efficient Prefill with Learned Token PruningTokenGate is a small drop-in component that adds end-to-end learnable token pruning to trained LLMs for long-context prefill. It uses token-gated attention, inspired by Mixture-of-Experts, to re-weight attention logits with token importance scores, which gets gradients through the non-differentiable top-K step. The authors report 1.4-11.3x faster time-to-first token and 1.5-3.4x lower peak memory with no accuracy loss, on Qwen3 and Qwen3.5.

Post-quantum commutative group actions from oriented superspecial abelian varietiesCastryck, Dina, Kutas and Lorenzon study the Shimura class group action on superspecial principally polarized abelian varieties with a CM orientation, as a post-quantum commutative group action for key exchange. They give tools to represent CM orientations through higher-dimensional isogenies and to compute the action in the restricted effective group action model. These rely on a CM version of Kani's lemma and a trick that often halves the ambient dimension. The paper also gives a method for finding oriented superspecial abelian surfaces and analyses obstructions to transitivity.

Which Model for Which Role? Cost-Efficient Pareto Recommendation for LLM Agentic WorkflowsCost-Coupled Gittins (CC-Gittins) is a multi-objective extension of cost-aware Gittins search that recommends Pareto-optimal model-to-role assignments for LLM agentic workflows. It exploits the coupling between evaluation and deployment cost, alternating between seeking higher quality and lower cost. On eight quality-cost matrices (two to five roles, up to 1,681 assignments), it recovers a substantial share of the true Pareto frontier at about 10% of exhaustive-evaluation cost, and most of it by 30%. Latency is tested as a third objective.

Tandem: Serving Hybrid Linear-Attention GUI Agents on Mobile NPUsTandem is a runtime for serving hybrid linear-attention GUI agents on mobile NPUs. It saves recurrent state where consecutive prompts diverge, keeps most prefill on the matrix unit, uses a verification kernel that reads each weight block once, and releases NPU power votes between bursts. On a Snapdragon 8 Elite it cuts per-step latency 30% for text screen descriptions and 16% for screenshots, cuts energy per text step by 33%, and lowers loaded-model standby power from 0.76 to 0.22 W.

Concerns in Benchmarking Jailbreaks: An Empirical Study of Attack Success RatesThis arXiv paper tests eight jailbreak attacks against three open-weight language models under three evaluation procedures. Low-resource language attacks score 96.0% mean ASR under keyword matching but 2.7% under a Qwen3 judge using StrongREJECT instructions. At Ollama's default temperature of 0.8, 100 samples of an unchanged request give 100% ASR by keywords and 50% by the judge. The authors recommend explicit success definitions, matched response budgets, validated evaluators and cumulative-failure reporting.

Rethinking LLM Fine-Tuning via Weight Space Reparameterization: Preserving Safety during Downstream AdaptationWSR-Tune is a fine-tuning framework that reparameterizes LLM weight matrices with a safety-conditioned basis, so safety-relevant information concentrates in a small set of directions. Those safety-critical directions are frozen, and the remaining complementary directions are updated for the downstream task. The authors report a better trade-off between downstream performance and safety retention. The page gives no benchmark names or numbers.
