New Android SMS of Death exploit can remotely crash unpatched phones

CVE-2026-58882, "SMS of Death", is a zero-click Android denial-of-service flaw in WapPushOverSms.decodeWapPdu, where an unchecked header-length value becomes negative and triggers a NegativeArraySizeException that crashes com.android.phone. A malformed eight-byte WAP Push message to port 2948 can drop calls, including emergency calls, and about 20 messages caused reboot loops. A PoC is public. Google patched Android 14 through 17 in October 2026, but Android 12 and 13 remain vulnerable.

Critical Linux kernel flaw allows remote root attacks on MPTCP servers

CVE-2026-98432 is a use-after-free race condition in the Linux kernel IPv4 TCP code (tcp_v4_syn_recv_sock, ireq_opt), affecting kernels back to 4.4 and rated 9.8 by the kernel CVE team (Red Hat rates it 5.9). Anthropic researchers say an unreleased Claude model built an exploit that bypassed KASLR and got remote root on an MPTCP listener in about 53 minutes. The article lists distro patch status and CIQ's nftables mitigation for IP options; disabling MPTCP alone does not help. No in-the-wild exploitation is reported.

TeamViewer Flaw Could Let Malicious Hosts Take Over Support Technicians’ Machines

CVE-2026-111585 (CVSS 8.8) is an integer overflow in the remote-control screen processing of TeamViewer clients on Windows, macOS, Linux and Android. A malicious or compromised host can announce an oversized screen surface (for example 32768 by 32768 at 32 bpp), forcing a software decode path and an out-of-bounds write that crashes the viewer or runs code. Remedio's research shows a pointer overwrite routed to WinExec. Version 15.83 fixes it, along with CVE-2026-92372, CVE-2026-92374 and six local privilege escalation bugs.

There isn't an easy exploit for this PHP vulnerability

Blog post from 21 October 2026 arguing that the recent PHP vulnerability (UAF chaining, tracked as PHP2Shell) has no easy working exploit, unlike Log4Shell, Heartbleed, Shellshock or the Rails YAML bug. The author says the many GitHub PoCs fail against vanilla PHP in Docker, or depend on a local-file-inclusion precondition or on an LLM modifying the target server. It also reflects on LLM-driven uniform judgement.

php2shell is the name given to two critical pre-auth remote code execution flaws, CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619, in PHP core's session upload progress handler (php_session_rfc1867_callback), where zend_hash_update frees live zval pointers that are later reclaimed and redirected into zend_call_function to run zif_system. This repository ships poc_109618.py, a fully automated four-stage HTTP exploit that leaks ASLR offsets via Set-Cookie headers against php:8.4.26-apache on Debian Bookworm, along with a root-cause C source patch, mitigation scripts to disable session.upload_progress, and WAF/ModSecurity/Lighttpd/Apache rules plus detection guidance for anomalous PHP worker child processes. Confirmed PHP versions include 8.4.4 and 8.2.34, with EOL branches (5.x, 7.x, 8.0, 8.1) left without official vendor patches.

AWS reports results for its autonomous pentesting agent, AWS Security Agent (now part of AWS Continuum), on an internal CTF-style benchmark of 37 recent 2025–2026 CVEs. It captured 35 flags, 33 (89.2%) through the intended vulnerability after an audit against canonical PoCs. The post describes the 7-stage pipeline (crawler, specialist agents, validator, exploitation agent, flag check, audit), three exploit walkthroughs (CMS upload-to-admin chain, AI workflow builder RCE, tRPC full-read SSRF), the two audit reclassifications caused by benchmark bugs, and two misses where the agent took the target down. Findings, attack steps, credentials, assets and tamper-evident evidence receipts are typed nodes with pre/post-condition edges, queried with Cypher and Graph Data Science for next-step inference, entry-to-crown-jewel pathing, chain-severity promotion, provenance and chokepoints. On a synthetic GOAD-style multi-forest Active Directory engagement, three Medium findings become Critical once chained, betweenness centrality identifies break-points, and reasoning payload drops ~98% (token proxy); results are single-run and illustrative.

AI Agents Navigate Unfamiliar OT Systems and Move Equipment in Minutes, Booz Allen Finds

SecurityWeek reports on a Booz Allen study in which frontier AI agents, given no source code, engineering documents or OT guidance, met every test objective across eight scenarios in an isolated OT lab. In one test a model went from perimeter compromise to actions inside an industrial control network in about 16 minutes. In another it found a robotic arm, mapped its protection zones and motion limits, and moved it. Existing defenses slowed some actions but no single safeguard stopped the agents. The researchers say this undermines security through obscurity in OT and advise making environments hard to traverse, removing implicit trust, detecting consequential industrial changes quickly, and limiting what an attacker can affect.

Visual Studio Copilot and SSMS Remote Code Execution (CVE-2026-103572)

CVE-2026-103572 is a remote code execution bug in Microsoft.VisualStudio.Copilot.Core.dll, shared by Visual Studio and SQL Server Management Studio. A trailing dot (for example `.mcp.json.`) bypasses the protected-filename check in EditsFunctionHandler.GetEditConfirmationTypeAsync, so a hijacked Copilot can rewrite its own MCP and settings files and run commands. The post covers path traversal and InstallationID leaks, indirect prompt injection demos, the October 2026 patch (GetFullPath), and a $0 bounty.

Ivanti Zero-Day Chain Gave Attackers Root Access to Fully Patched VPN

Ivanti disclosed CVE-2026-104935, an authentication bypass plus RCE in Connect Secure VPN appliances, exploited in the wild; patched in ICS 22.8R2.5, 25.1.1.2, 25.1.3.0 and 25.1.3.1. Volexity found threat actor UTA0576 chained three zero-days, including a still-unpatched privilege escalation, to get unauthenticated root on a fully patched appliance. Post-exploitation focused on stealing domain credentials, Active Directory reconnaissance (LAPS passwords, BitLocker keys), password spraying, a custom Kerberos tool and log tampering. Volexity assesses with medium confidence that the actor uses LLMs for exploit development.

XBOW Built a Chrome Full-Chain Exploit Affecting a Billion Users in Six Days | XBOW

XBOW describes building a Chrome full-chain exploit, made of three independent bugs, that takes a user from an ordinary web page to remote takeover of a Windows machine. The team built it in six days with a publicly available model (GPT-5.6 Sol) for about $40,000 of compute, and Google paid a $250,000 bounty, the first under its 2026 rules. The bugs are now fixed. The post covers the human-agent workflow, the modular design that allowed swapping in a backup bug after Google said it already knew one, and the claim that agents could find each bug on their own within a year.

Zero to calc in six days: inside XBOW's Chrome full chain

XBOW researchers describe a Chrome full-chain exploit that combines a V8/Maglev deoptimization bug (mutable HeapNumber treated as immutable), a TOCTOU flaw in Blink's animated-WebP decoder exploiting a transferred ArrayBuffer, and a race in Crashpad's remote-memory reader to achieve code execution outside the renderer sandbox. The chain, built in six days largely by AI agents using OpenAI's gpt-5.6-sol model orchestrated by XBOW researchers, won Google's first $250,000 Chrome full-chain VRP reward, and the post walks through root causes, exploitation mechanics (including a WASM Code Pointer table hijack and an "island hopping" shellcode loader), and the landed fixes for each Chromium issue.

The Mirabilis server stores 8-character passwords, and sending a password of 9 or more characters (e.g. "123456789") overflows the buffer and logs the client in as any UIN not already online. This gives full account takeover, including receiving offline messages. It is not spoofing, and it works with unofficial clients such as zicq, since the official client enforces the length limit client-side.

VulnCheck's exploit development team analyzes CVE-2026-76504, a critical zero-day authentication bypass in Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN Manager (vManage), reproduced to the point of a weaponized exploit. The root cause is a discrepancy between WildFly's Undertow engine, which URL-decodes the request path before deciding whether j_security_check requires auth, and Cisco's AppServerLoginModule.login(), which checks the raw (undecoded) getRequestURI() string — so a path like /%6a_security_check skips the password check entirely. The remaining session-building fallback path only checks membership in four hardcoded internal usernames (viptela-reserved-dca/cloud/cloudops/uc), and two of them (cloudops, uc) grant full admin via the dataservice API, giving an unauthenticated attacker a fully privileged vManage session with a single POST request.

The proof sketch argues that indistinguishable traffic forces receivers to run expensive deobfuscation on all packets including attacker-generated noise (enabling DoS), while any cheap early-filter function, by Kerckhoffs's principle, becomes a public signature a censor can hardware-implement to block the protocol. This is a theoretical tradeoff relevant to designing or attacking covert/anti-censorship transport protocols.

CVE-2026-61500: Rejetto HFS Session Forgery Vulnerability (found via Anthropic Mythos)

Horizon3.ai discloses CVE-2026-61500, a session-forgery vulnerability in Rejetto HTTP File Server (HFS) 3.x found using Anthropic's Mythos model. HFS seeds Koa's keygrip session-signing key with V8's insecure, invertible Math.random() PRNG and separately leaks raw Math.random() outputs through an unauthenticated login endpoint; by sampling a dozen leaked outputs and feeding them to the Z3 SMT solver, an attacker can recover the xorshift128+ internal state, step it backwards to the process-start signing key, and forge an admin session cookie that leads to remote code execution via HFS's built-in admin JavaScript execution feature. The piece walks through the full exploit chain and argues that Mythos independently chained the crypto weakness and the leak, built the Z3-based key-recovery solver, and produced a working PoC without additional prompting.

The attacker enumerated hosts, extracted web.config/connection strings, hunted for cardholder data (Fortis/MXMerchant webhook logs, CVV/card-number strings), then escalated to timestomping, re-deploying known-filename webshells, and finally injecting an AI-generated PowerShell/JS dropper into a trojanized jQuery file to turn site visitors' browsers into WebRTC/WebSocket C2 clients (ririmochii/bubuneeko Cloudflare Workers infrastructure). The bug stems from an unvalidated peer-controlled dmbe_idx/dmbe_size offset computation (smcd_conn_save_peer_info -> smc_ism_write -> dibs_lo_move_data memcpy) that XBOW turned into a reliable LPE by MITM-forging CLC handshake fields via nftables NFQUEUE and grooming kernel cred structures with a 16-byte zero-write primitive alone. Part 2 of a research series on ZDI-26-708, a Windows Network Connectivity Status Indicator (NCSI) flaw where a proxy configured in an unprivileged user's HKCU ends up used by the NETWORK SERVICE-owned netprofm process. The author reverse-engineers ncsi.dll and winhttp.dll with IDA/WinDbg to show the value actually arrives via a Windows Event Log subscription to Event ID 5600 (Microsoft-Windows-WinINet-Config) rather than the WNF notification initially suspected, is stored in NCSI's user-proxy state, and is later applied to a WinHttpSetOption(38) call for an active connectivity probe. It documents why option 193 (WINHTTP_OPTION_DISABLE_PROXY_AUTH_SCHEMES) fails to disable NTLM (wrong bitmask, 0x100 vs 0x04), and demonstrates cross-context NTLM proxy authentication capture/relay with impacket-ntlmrelayx toward ADCS, since the request runs under the netprofm/NETWORK SERVICE machine-account context.

FirmAgent is an academic research toolkit (NDSS 2026) for finding vulnerabilities in re-hosted IoT firmware web services by combining IDA-based pre-fuzzing (CFG/sink distance scoring), QEMU instrumented tracing, CFG-guided API fuzzing, and an optional LLM agent (LLMATaint.py) that consumes runtime taint traces to reason about and produce PoCs for bug classes like command injection. The pipeline is explicit about scope: it is meant for authorized, owned or re-hosted firmware (e.g. Greenhouse-style containers), and stitches together sink-scope extraction, feedback-driven fuzzing, and request-to-trace attribution before handing traces to an LLM for taint-to-PoC analysis.

SAPMAP — SAP Landscape Attack Path Mapper

SAPMAP is a BloodHound-style attack path mapper for SAP landscapes: it discovers SAP systems on a network, maps RFC trust connections, and implements real exploits (10KBLAZE/CVE-2020-6207 gateway trust, CVE-2025-31324 VisualComposer JSP webshell, a described CVE-2026-58240 Message Server rogue-registration flaw, and CVE-2026-31431 root LPE via AF_ALG page-cache patching) to chart lateral movement across ABAP, Java, HANA, and BTP-connected systems. Its AutoPwn mode chains scan → exploit → enrich → propagate across an entire landscape, and it includes an engagement-report generator, SecStore/RSECTAB credential decryption, SSH lateral movement, hash cracking via hashes.com, and a Tier-3 "evasion" module (SAL slot disable, DBTABLOG purge) paired with an extensive, specific blue-team detection guide (SAL/SM20, DBTABLOG gaps, kernel-param diffing, OS/network IOCs) for defenders to catch it.

OnePlus/OPPO root privilege-escalation chain (AtlasService + olc2)

Researcher Rasmus Moorats disclosed a two-stage local privilege-escalation chain on OnePlus/OPPO Android phones: OnePlus's AtlasService debugging component runs as root and passes unvalidated app input into a system command, granting root but confined to a restricted dumpstate zone; a second flaw in the olc2 hardware-helper service accepts arbitrary shell commands from any root caller, escaping the sandbox to full root with kernel-module-loading privileges. A malicious app requiring zero permissions and showing no prompts can chain both bugs on a stock OnePlus 15 or 12 Pro, and OnePlus said the same flaws affect many other OnePlus and OPPO devices sharing OxygenOS. OnePlus confirmed the bugs in May 2026 but had shipped no fix or CVE by publication (Sept 24), and separately told the researcher it claims sole authority over disclosure timing and threatened legal liability for publishing without consent — a stance he rejected before going public.

Chocapikk/CVE-2026-21858

A GitHub PoC chaining two n8n CVEs into unauthenticated RCE: CVE-2026-21858 abuses a Content-Type confusion in the Form Trigger/Respond-to-Webhook nodes to read arbitrary files (e.g. /proc/self/environ, the SQLite database, and the config file), from which the attacker derives the JWT secret from n8n's encryptionKey and forges an admin session cookie. That admin access is then used to create a workflow exploiting CVE-2025-68613, an expression-injection sandbox bypass (`this.process.mainModule.require`) that yields command execution, all demonstrated with a working Python exploit script and Docker lab against n8n 1.65.0. It notes the exploit was developed independently of a prior Cyera/Dor Attias write-up on a related n8n chain and details the specific vulnerable workflow pattern (file-upload form + binary Respond node) required for exploitation.

A Blind Trust, the Bloody Thrust: When Attacker-Controlled Hook Updates Steer AI Agent Harnesses towards Malicious Behaviors

This paper identifies lifecycle-hook configuration updates as a trojan vector in AI agent harnesses: hooks bind shell commands to runtime events (session start, tool calls, file edits) and run with host privileges, but harnesses blindly trust plugin-metadata updates that silently rebind these commands to attacker-chosen code. The authors built HookPry, an open-source automated attack framework realizing ten attack objectives, and across 25 harness/backend combinations in 1,000 runs it compromised all seven evaluated harnesses (up to 92.5% per-harness success), while Microsoft Defender caught none of the malicious artifacts and combined static defenses still missed 47.5%.

The project found 17 confirmed chains, 6 novel, including CB1-Shaded-RCE — a chain that bypasses JPMS's TemplatesImpl restrictions via a shaded/relocated copy of Xalan's XSLTC shipped inside WildFly's JSTL jar, giving RCE on the latest WildFly on JDK 21 — plus a novel JNDI-injection chain in Payara via AttributeComparator/InjectableJMSContext. OAuth Token Theft Through Microsoft's Front Door | Huntress

Huntress researcher Andrew Schwartz demonstrates a novel OAuth token-theft technique: a sideloaded AppX package registered via Add-AppxPackage -Register (requiring only Developer Mode, no admin beyond that toggle) can set ContentUriRules WindowsRuntimeAccess="all" so attacker-controlled JavaScript rendered inside the Microsoft-signed WWAHost.exe process gets full WinRT access, including the legacy WebAuthenticationBroker OAuth API. Using Microsoft Office's own client ID and the oob redirect URI, the attacker triggers a genuine login.microsoftonline.com/MFA dialog with no browser chrome, captures the auth code, and exchanges it for an access token plus a long-lived refresh token carrying the full Office delegated Graph scope set (mail, files, Teams, directory, AuditLog.Create) — validated end-to-end against a live Entra ID tenant with MFA and default Conditional Access. The post frames it as a class of vulnerable signed AppX host binaries sharing the same WinRT activation layer, and provides a Sigma rule keyed on the MSAppHost/3.0 EdgeHTML user agent reaching non-Microsoft destinations, plus Sysmon/Event ID and GPO-based mitigations (restricting Developer Mode, Conditional Access, shorter refresh-token lifetimes, CAE).

A Docker-based exploitation lab for CVE-2026-26980, an unauthenticated blind SQL injection in Ghost CMS's Content API (versions before 6.19.1). The bug lives in slug-filter-order.js, where slug values from the array-notation filter syntax (filter=slug:['value']) are interpolated unsanitized into an ORDER BY CASE statement, letting NQL's single-quote-wrapped literals smuggle raw SQL past input validation; since MySQL treats || as OR and empty strings as falsy, attackers get a clean boolean oracle to extract data (e.g. admin email/password hash) from any Ghost site using only the publicly embedded Content API key. The repo includes exploit.py for full setup/verify/extract, a docker-compose lab spinning up both vulnerable (6.18.0) and patched (6.19.1) Ghost instances, and also mentions a second patched bug (jsonpath/static-eval prototype pollution in the {{#get}} Handlebars helper leading to RCE via themes).
