North Korea Is Laundering Binance Hack Loot at One New Wallet Every 25 Seconds

Decrypt reports Elliptic's analysis of the laundering of the $6.43 billion stolen from Binance, which the FBI attributed to TraderTraitor. The attacker spread funds across about 12,000 wallets on 11 blockchains in over 40,000 transactions in under four days. Tether and Circle froze about $2.85 billion (44%), against 3% after the Bybit hack. About $3.24 billion, mostly ETH and 18,270 BTC, is unmoved, and Elliptic expects a months-long OTC cash-out.

The SAIL Framework from Pillar Security is a seven-phase, lifecycle-oriented method for securing AI systems. The phases are AI policy and safe experimentation, AI asset discovery, AI security posture management, AI red teaming, runtime guardrails, sandboxed execution for agents and MCP servers, and AI activity tracing. It argues for a "Shift Up" approach that protects the business logic AI controls, and it is meant to sit on top of existing standards.

High Precision Noise Cleaning for CKKS with Application to Asynchronous Threshold CKKS

High Precision Noise Cleaning for CKKS is an IACR ePrint preprint (2026/2675) by Zhihao Li, Cheng Hong and Tao Wei. It composes lower-degree Hermite polynomials to reach output noise bounds such as 2^-300 for noise flooding, and uses this to build an asynchronous threshold CKKS scheme with strong simulation security in the random oracle model. In OpenFHE, binary-message cleaning falls from 9.63 s to 1.54 s.

Sparse Autoencoders as Implicit Diversification Regularisers for Cross-Sectional Cryptocurrency Returns

This arXiv preprint (October 2026) tests a sparse autoencoder as a factor model for daily cryptocurrency returns, with equities as a secondary test. SAE portfolios show consistently lower volatility than common benchmarks, linked to lower correlations among selected assets. They do not beat a simple contrarian strategy on risk-adjusted return, and factor identities change between training runs.

Heads of Security (HoS) is a prompt injection defense that trains a small set of per-head attention gates to shift attention between trusted and untrusted tokens, separating instructions from data. Tested on Llama-3.3-70B-Instruct and GPT-OSS-20B, the black-box RL-Hammer attack reaches 10% ASR on HoS versus 97% on base GPT-OSS-20B and 85% on SecAlign. HoS keeps base utility in few-shot settings, where SecAlign and ASIDE degrade.

Radical isogenies on every model

Radical isogenies on every model is an IACR ePrint paper by Thomas Decru (October 2026). It gives radical isogeny steps of every odd degree N directly on short Weierstrass, Montgomery, twisted Edwards, Huff, Jacobi quartic, twisted Hessian, Legendre and Jacobi intersection curves, plus Kummer lines. In Tate normal form a step drops from 12.5N to 10N multiplications. Montgomery and twisted Edwards curves cost 10.5N+O(1) per step and 2N to push a point. PHP2Shell Exploitation Moves From Probes to Working Shells

PHP2Shell exploitation (CVE-2026-109618, CVE-2026-109619) reached working shells on 24 October 2026, when Perplexity researcher Adel Karimi's honeypots (PHP 8.4.26, Apache mod_php, single worker) logged 35 shells across three servers. Attackers used a four-stage HTTP chain: memory exhaustion, memory leak, then shell command execution, matching a public PoC. No second-stage payload was seen, and CISA had not added the flaws to KEV as of 26 October.

CVE-2026-106173 is a critical (CVSS 9.4) unauthenticated arbitrary file write in FortiSIEM's phQueryMaster gRPC service on port 27918/TCP. The SendQueryResult method builds a path from the query-id parameter without validation, so "../" sequences escape the directory and a null byte drops the appended filename and extension. Overwriting /opt/charting/redishb.sh, which runs every 60 seconds, gives remote command execution. Horizon3.ai published the analysis and a PoC.

Non-profiled Single-Trace ML-DSA Secret Key Recovery by Horizontal Distribution Analysis

Non-profiled single-trace side-channel attack on ML-DSA-65 (Dilithium) running on ARM Cortex-M4, by Linus Backlund and Elena Dubrova (KTH). It compares observed sample distributions with expected Hamming weight leakage using a Gaussian mixture model, and stacks partitioned trace segments for multiple observations. Information-set decoding corrects misclassifications; with a 2^70 enumeration budget, the full secret key is recovered from one trace in 99% of attacks, using secret key unpacking as the attack point.

Scope-Gap Injection: Exploiting Evaluator Channel Blind Spots in the OpenClaw Agent Security Competition

Scope-Gap Injection (SGI) is an indirect prompt injection method for multi-stage LLM-agent safety pipelines, tested in the IJCAI 2026 OpenClaw Agent Security Attack Competition. The visible task and skill stay benign while target identifiers, bypass parameters and authorization steps sit in an attachment written as a business worklist, which the S2 LLM judge appears not to inspect. SGI bypassed all three stages (static scan, LLM judge, live audit) for 5 of 19 targets, best F = 0.385. Attachment placement had 78% S2 acceptance versus 23% in-skill. The paper closes with defenses that align evaluator scope with agent channels.

Anis Bkakria's ePrint 2026/2638 gives polynomial-time decision attacks on Known-Covariance Ring-LWE (KCov-RLWE), the assumption Micciancio and Suhl introduced for simulation-secure threshold encryption. The public sample and covariance hint form a bordered Gram matrix whose determinant leaks a residual that differs between real and uniform samples. The attacks cover broad prime-modulus families at ring rank one and transfer to composite moduli with an odd prime divisor. Power-of-two moduli are not covered, and the paper does not break the full threshold-encryption scheme.

Post on the LiteLLM supply-chain compromise. Attackers spent eleven days in the GitHub org, ran a workflow on a throwaway branch to take twenty secrets including a GitHub App private key, then used stolen GitHub CLI OAuth tokens to publish malicious release 1.107.0 from a lookalike Berri-AI repo. Ethereum Devs Postpone Glamsterdam on Hoodi Over Contract Security Risks

Ethereum core developers postponed Glamsterdam on the Hoodi testnet on 22 October 2026, four days before the 26 October activation. ChainSecurity research showed EIP-8037 and EIP-8038 gas repricing can let a contract's failure path succeed where it used to revert, for example a fresh storage write costing 110,020 gas instead of 22,100. Rounded Gaussians are Discrete Gaussians is an IACR ePrint paper (2026/2583) by Corentin Jeudy. It shows that setting the rounded Gaussian parameter to sigma = s - 1/(24s) gives a distribution within Rényi divergence 1 + O(1/s^8) of a discrete Gaussian of parameter s. Lattice schemes can then use the simple, constant-time-friendly, low-memory rounded sampler while analyzing security against an ideal discrete Gaussian.

Hijacked Developer Account Used to Plant Stealer in OVHcloud CLI

OVHcloud's official CLI was backdoored on 19 October after an attacker used a developer's hijacked GitHub account to overwrite release binaries for v0.11.0 through v0.15.0 with a secret stealer. The malicious files were live for about 94 minutes. Release immutability was not enabled, so CI/CD was bypassed. OpenSourceMalware links the account to a March 2026 compromise with a Solana-based loader and a GlassWorm wallet, but calls the same-actor link an inference.

A company that vouches for websites had secret keys so weak that 8 of them were cracked

eMudhra, an Indian certificate authority with over 60 million issued certificates, had eight CA private keys that were tiny integers such as 4, 56 and 237. Researcher Scott Helme recovered all eight from public certificates in under a second, and the keys were exposed from April 2025. Mozilla, Chrome, Apple and Microsoft blocked them between 17 and 20 October 2026, but curl, Python, Node.js, Go and Java accepted a forged Stripe API certificate because they skip revocation checks.

A Spectral Theory of Local-to-Global Leakage

A Spectral Theory of Local-to-Global Leakage is an IACR ePrint paper (2026/2571) by Rei Ueno on additive secret sharing over finite abelian groups. It gives an exact leakage decomposition into local leakage magnitude and spectral alignment across shares. Two channels with identical local mutual information can have exponentially different global leakage. Automorphism-weighted sharing can cancel leakage perfectly with finitely many shares, which ordinary additive sharing cannot do.

It walks through turning each memory bug into addrof/fakeobj primitives, chaining either with the sandbox escape to reclaim a freed V8 isolate via a WebSocket allocation, and pivoting through a CFI-constrained ROP chain to achieve Chrome renderer code execution, earning two v8CTF flags.
