Binance asset replenishment reaches 98% as illiquid purchases continue
Binance's 29 October 2026 breach, attributed by the FBI to North Korea's TraderTraitor, is described in a 3 November 2026 update from CEO Richard Teng. The intrusion ran through two engineer compromises: a tampered Homebrew install in June and a fake-recruiter coding exercise with malware in September. Attackers moved through internal AI tools into the wallet transaction-authorization system. Binance reports 98% of assets replenished, about $3.64 billion in net outflows, and a remediation list.
