Systematic study of which framings of a user's claim trigger sycophancy in factual question answering, where every answer is objectively verifiable. Do Large Language Models Know Colombian Law? A Reliability Benchmark for the Colombian Legal System

This paper introduces Divergent Token Confidence (DTC), a method for uncertainty quantification in LLM chain-of-thought reasoning that counts tokens where two models strongly disagree during decoding, measured via Jensen-Shannon divergence between next-token distributions on the same reasoning trajectory. Unlike standard probability-based confidence scores, DTC requires no training, works in both white-box and black-box settings, and its divergent-token count is shown to be strongly negatively correlated with answer accuracy. Across six mathematical benchmarks and multiple model families (including DeepSeek-V3.2), DTC cuts expected calibration error roughly in half compared to full-sequence probability and verbalized-confidence baselines (e.g., 13.0% vs 32.7%-42.4% white-box).

A Unified Uncertainty Representation for Graph Neural Networks via Doubly-Spectral Stochastic Expansion
